Join the rally for Equality and Fairness in Bloomsburg

Please join the United for Fairness and Equality Rally on December 15th from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the Bloomsburg Fire Hall to demonstrate your support for a nondiscrimination ordinance in Bloomsburg.

Many of you were surprised to learn that it is still legal for a person to be fired from their job, evicted from their home, or turned away from business just for being gay or transgender. And since then, many have joined the campaign for an ordinance in Bloomsburg to end this type of discrimination.

By protecting people from discrimination, we can help level the playing field for everyone in town who works hard, takes responsibility for their own lives, and does their part to help our economy grow. Updating the law won’t end discrimination overnight. But it will be one more tool to ensure that all people are treated fairly and equally.

Following the United for Fairness and Equality Rally, the Bloomsburg Town Council will be meeting in the Fire Hall at 6:00 PM to vote on two important things: an ordinance to prohibit discrimination and a resolution calling upon the state legislature to take action on this crucial issue. Please plan to stay for the council meeting if you can.
