PEPSI CHALLENGE

As you know, these are tough times for non-profit organizations and that includes us. That's why, this January, we're trying a little something new to raise money for our work.

We've joined a group of incredible progressive organizations to jointly compete in an online fundraising contest called Pepsi Refresh Everything.

While we ordinarily steer clear of contests like this, Pepsi is giving away some serious money and we think we have a great shot at winning. In fact, this strategy has already helped win over $1,000,000 for 25 different progressive groups so far. And now the Equality Pennsylvania Educational Fund is joining the effort.

But we need your help.

Rather than asking you to donate money, we're asking that you sign-up to be a daily voter http://www.theprogressiveslate.com/january/signup.php?name=equalitypa for the Equality Pennsylvania Educational Fund in January.

As a daily voter, you'll receive a short email each morning in the month of January with a link where you can go and cast 10 votes each day for all the organizations on the Progressive Slate (that's what we're calling all of our groups working together).

The contest runs through January and we'll know by the end of the month whether we won or not.

This will money make a big difference for our work this year and all it takes is the click of a mouse.

This money will be crucial to our plans for 2011. The grant will give us the ability to provide leadership training to LGBT & Allied youth throughout Pennsylvania.

The other groups on the slate include organizations that are working to develop young climate change leaders, promote sustainability and green jobs, help students get jobs at progressive non-profits, train community organizers, improve access to quality healthcare for young people and fight for LGBT rights & equality.
