Statement on the passing of Lynn Zeitlin and Jake Kaskey

Harrisburg – Equality PA recently lost two leaders in the LGBT community who helped to make the organization what it is today.

Last week, Lynn Zeitlin, former executive director of Equality PA, passed away and a few weeks ago Jake Kaskey, former lobbyist for Equality PA, passed on.

Executive Director, Ted Martin, said, “Both Lynn and Jake contributed to Equality PA’s work significantly, and losing both of them is a loss to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. Equality PA staff sends our condolences to both families.”

Martin added, “Lynn Zeitlin and Jake Kaskey showed leadership on LGBT issues for many years, before the more accepting times that we live in now. In our state, the LGBT community still has much work to do, but without the contributions of these two leaders, we would not be where we are today in Pennsylvania.”
