Ted Martin – Executive Director

Ted is the Executive Director of Equality Pennsylvania, the state’s leading lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) political advocacy organization. He is also a native Pennsylvanian, a longtime LGBT activist, and non-profit professional.

Prior to joining the organization in May 2010, Ted worked in several varied administrative and communications capacities over the previous two decades. Starting his career as a Legislative Assistant and the Deputy Chief of Staff of a subcommittee of the Education and Labor Committee of the US House of Representatives, Ted has subsequently worked in the field of architectural preservation, communications, and marketing. He is also a busy volunteer and has served on the boards of several non-profit organizations including Equality Federation and the LGBT Community Center Coalition of Central Pennsylvania. He and his husband, Dwayne, reside in Camp Hill outside of Harrisburg and were married on June 19, 2008 in La Jolla, California.

Joe Dungee – Development Director & Philadelphia Office Lead

JoeDungeeJoe is the Development Director for Equality Pennsylvania and has been with the organization since October of 2008. In addition to overseeing all administrative functions for EQPA, Joe has been instrumental in supporting the organization in a wide range of areas including community outreach, event planning, and volunteer/intern management. Prior to joining EQPA, Joe worked for Prudential Fox and Roach Realtors and Ethan Allen Global, Incorporated. In 2011, Joe graduated from Community College of Philadelphia with an Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts, and he plans to go on to earn a BA from one of the region’s four year universities. Joe resides in Philadelphia where he is active in the local LGBTQ community as well as a range of organizations with regard to arts and culture as well as those that advance social and economic justice.

John Dawe, MNA, CNP, CFRE – Development & Management Consultant

John W. Dawe has worked in the nonprofit management and fundraising sphere for 15 years, working for foundations to grassroots organizations as well as managing projects and corporate giving for a large web development company. His firm Dawe Consulting provides consultative development, management, and strategic planning services across the country and the affiliated Dawe Group provides marketing and branding services. John hails from Northeastern Pennsylvania and holds a Masters with Distinction in Nonprofit Administration from North Park University in Chicago. He is a Certified Nonprofit Professional from the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance, Certified Fund Raising Executive from CFRE International, and is a Master Trainer for the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Prior to Equality PA, he has filled interim executive roles as CIO/Vice President of the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce, Director of Marketing for The Woodlands Inn and Resort, and Consulting Special Projects Manager at The Luzerne Foundation. John served for nearly three terms on the Equality Pennsylvania board as board member, secretary, and treasurer before stepping in as development and management consultant.

Kell Wilkinson, MPA, MSW – Policy Director & Harrisburg Office Lead

Kell WilkinsonKell is the Policy Director for Equality Pennsylvania.   Kell is a native Pennsylvanian, born and raised in rural northwest PA and holds a Master of Public Administration and a Master of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh.  Prior to joining Equality Pennsylvania, Kell worked in local government human services administration managing a number of integration, policy and inclusion related projects.  At Equality Pennsylvania, Kell manages all policy initiatives and advocates for critical programmatic policy changes across the Commonwealth to improve the lives of LGBT Pennsylvanians.  Kell resides in Harrisburg, enjoys gardening, playing board games and going on adventures with friends.
